ASA Minority Fellowship Program

The American Sociological Association (ASA) has announced Minority Fellowship Program for those applicants who are enrolled in a program that grants the Ph.D. in sociology at the time of applying. The fellowship provides an annual stipend of $18,000 for each award. In addition, arrangements for the payments of tuition are made with universities or departments.

Bridging Scholarships

The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American Citizens who are participating in study-abroad programs in Japan and enrolled as undergraduates in a college or university in the United States. Bridging Scholarship recipients receive a stipend of $2,500 (for students on semester-long programs) or $4,000 (for students on academic year programs)

Boren Fellowship

David L. Boren is the principal author of the legislation that created the National Security Education Program and the Boren Awards to U.S. graduate students. The program gives a chance for the students in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The Boren Fellowships provide up to $24,000 for overseas study, a maximum award for a combined overseas and domestic program is $30,000.

The Tang Scholarship

The Tang Scholarship Established in 2007 by Mr. Edward C. Tang to give financial assistance to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Asians and Pacific Islanders, this scholarship gives up to two awards annually for a total of $15,000. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years.
