The VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship”

The VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” provides service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. To apply, the applicant must be accepted to or currently enrolled in a VA-approved program or school at an accredited post-secondary institutionScholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded to qualified applicants.

The Patriot’s Pen writing competition

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. is now accepting entries into its 2017-18 Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen youth scholarship competitions. The Patriot’s Pen writing competition is open to students in grades 6-8. This year, students are asked to reflect on the statement, “America’s Gift to My Generation.” The national winner will receive a $5,000 award. Student participants are asked to submit their entry (along with a completed entry form) to their local participating VFW Post.

Spouse Scholarships

National Military Family Association (NMFA) awards an average of $500 for career funding and $1,000 for degrees. Up to $2500 is available for clinical supervision towards licensure in the mental health profession. Spouses are also eligible for funding, typically $1,000, to build their own businesses

TheRanger Memorial Foundation and Ranger Battalions Association of WWII Scholarship

The National Ranger Memorial Foundation (NRMF) and the Ranger Battalions Association of WWII (RBA WWII) are seeking qualified candidates to compete for 45 NRMF and 4 RBA WWII $1000.00 awards to be applied towards the chosen applicants’ educational needs. Applications are accepted from January 1st through June 1st of each calendar year.Awards will be made to promising high school seniors (3.0 GPA) that have been accepted into a state accredited two- or four-year educational or technical institution.

Military Veterans Scholarship Program (MVSP)

The AAPG Foundation’s United States Military Veterans Scholarship Program (MVSP) is designed to promote the advancement of student veterans in educational geoscience programs at the undergraduate level.Scholarship awards from $2,000-$4,000 are available and may be used for educational and expenses covering thecost of attendance.

The Kaplan/ThanksUSA Scholarships

The Kaplan University is proud to offer three types of scholarships (Kaplan/Thanks USA Full Tuition Scholarships, Kaplan/ThanksUSA RN to BSN Scholarships, and Kaplan/ThanksUSA Associate’s to Bachelor’s Scholarship). The program is open to current high school seniors or graduates who are planning to enroll or already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or vocational/technical school. The student will receive an award of $3,000 for educational expenses if selected as a recipient.

The Spouse Education Assistance Program

The Spouse Education Assistance Program is a need-based scholarship program established to assist Spouses of Army Soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degree. Applicants must apply each year and may receive assistance for up to four academic years of full-time study or eight academic years of part-time study. The Spouse awards ranged from $500 to $1,900.

Thomas B. Finan Memorial

Allegany College of Maryland has put forward a scholarship program. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who has met the following minimum qualifications: Full-time student, must be a U.S. citizen/permanent resident, resident of Allegany County, graduate of Allegany, Fort Hill, or Bishop Walsh high school, have at least a 2.0 GPA, and be enrolled in the Nursing curriculum. Winners will get up to $1,100 award amount.

The Heroes’ Legacy Scholarship

The Fisher House Inc. is now offering the “Heroes’ Legacy Scholarships” program honors not only those who have fallen in battle but all who have died or have become disabled through their active military service since September 11, 2001. Student Veterans of America and Accenture have partnered to provide a scholarship to veterans who are pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited four-year college or university. The Patriots Ball fund scholarships

Proceeds raised at the Patriots Ball fund scholarships to higher education for Veterans and Dependents of Veterans disabled or killed in action.  Additionally, these funds support financial grants awarded to local non-profit organizations assisting Veterans with a variety of social service needs.This scholarship may be used for tuition, books, classroom supplies, room and board, and other direct fees levied by the educational institution coincident to college enrollment and attendance.
