The VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” provides service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. The Patriot’s Pen writing competition
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. is now accepting entries into its 2017-18 Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen youth scholarship competitions. The Patriot’s Pen writing competition is open to students in grades 6-8. This year, students are asked to reflect on the statement, “America’s Gift to My Generation.” The national winner will receive a $5,000 award. Student participants are asked to submit their entry (along with a completed entry form) to their local participating VFW Post.

National Military Family Association (NMFA) awards an average of $500 for career funding and $1,000 for degrees. Up to $2500 is available for clinical supervision towards licensure in the mental health profession. Spouses are also eligible for funding, typically $1,000, to build their own businesses

The Spouse Education Assistance Program
The Spouse Education Assistance Program is a need-based scholarship program established to assist Spouses of Army Soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degree. Thomas B. Finan Memorial
Allegany College of Maryland has put forward a scholarship program. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who has met the following minimum qualifications: Full-time student, must be a U.S. citizen/permanent resident, resident of Allegany County, graduate of Allegany, Fort Hill, or Bishop Walsh high school, have at least a 2.0 GPA, and be enrolled in the Nursing curriculum. The Patriots Ball fund scholarships
Proceeds raised at the Patriots Ball fund scholarships to higher education for Veterans and Dependents of Veterans disabled or killed in action.
