Yanez & Associates is offering Law Scholarship Essay Contest for the students who are enrolled in JD law program in the United States. The essay contest will focus on Domestic Violence in America. The goal of the contest is to increase awareness of the growing issue of domestic violence. Two scholarships will be given to the winning candidates.
The mission of the family law firm is to present unrivaled representation for clients implicated in easy to difficult cases in Orange County and Los Angeles.
Eligibility:
- The Law Student Scholarship is open to students enrolled in any JD law program in the United States
- Undergraduates and Pre-law Students intending to pursue a law program are also welcomed to submit their essay, provided they will be enrolled at the time the essays are judged
- 18 years or older
- Currently enrolled in a Law School or has applied to a Law School and will be enrolled by the time the essays are judged
How to Apply:
- For applying the scholarship, the candidates must fill the on-line application form. The link is:

- The candidates must submit the essay (2,500 to 3,500 words) on one of the following topics and the content must be original, in other words the content must not be reproduced from the Internet.
- Should parents found guilty of domestic violence have their parental rights terminated?
- 10 Best ways to protect yourself and your family from domestic violence
- Can domestic violence abusers change their behavior?
- Are children who are victims of domestic violence doomed to repeat the cycle?
- What are some warning signs of a potential domestic violence abuser?
Submitting Details:
The candidates can upload essay in the format of PDF file. The PDF file you will be uploading should contain the following:
- Your Essay
- The file should be labeled as such “firstname- lastname-scholarship-essay.pdf”
- The current law school you are attending or the name of the law school you will be attending on or near the time the winners are selected.
- Provide an email for the school or schools you will be enrolled in.
Award Amount:
This law school scholarship program consist of two annual scholarships:
First Prize: $2,000.00
Second Prize: $1000.00
Application Deadline:
The application deadline is August 31, 2015 and the winners will be announced on or before September 15, 2015.
