The Black Alumni Association (BAA) is providing scholarships for undergraduate and graduate disciplines at University of Southern California (USC). The BAA offers scholarship assistance, career mentoring and cultural advocacy through alumni volunteer involvement, philanthropy, and social enterprise. If you are selected, you will receive a $3,000.00 award, along with alumni mentorship and leadership support programming. The BAA Scholarship award does not automatically renew. The award is for the academic year only.
Founded in 1976 by Rev. Dr. Thomas Kilgore, Jr., The USC Black Alumni Association is a leadership network established to strengthen the legacy of educational attainment and excellence of USC black students.
Eligibility:
- Applicants for awards must be the incoming freshman or continuing USC and/or transfer students. They must be planning to enroll in full-time, undergraduate or graduate courses of study. The minimum cumulative G.P.A. for this scholarship is 2.5. Applicants should exemplify commitment and identification with the African-American community. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic and personal merit and demonstrated involvement within the African-American community.
- Transfer students will be reviewed and selected after they have been admitted.
- Incoming freshman applicants will also be considered for the scholarship upon verification of admission to USC for the upcoming school year.
- Students receiving tuition remission are not eligible.

Financial Aid and Award Money:
The average undergraduate annual award is $3,000.00 and the average graduate annual award is $1,000.00 and is finalized prior to the start of the new academic year.
Application Deadline:
All applications for the BAA Scholarship Application must be submitted online to the USC Office of Black Alumni Programs by Wednesday, March 1, 2017, by 5:00 pm PDT.
