U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is being offered by U.S. Department of Education. Graduates or diploma receivers who are U.S. citizens or legal permanent U.S. resident, considered to be eligible. Aim of U.S. Presidential Scholars Program to recognize and honor graduating high school seniors. The given scholarship program provides student loans or grants to help students attend college.

The United States Department of Education (ED or DoED), was established in 1867. Mission of DoED is to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access.

Eligibility

Students who meet the following criteria can apply for U.S. Presidential Scholars Program:

  • Applicant must be U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent U.S. Residents by the application deadline.
  • Graduate or receive a diploma between January and August of 2016, the current program year.
  • Score exceptionally well on either the SAT of the College Board or the ACT of the American College Testing Program, based on tests taken during the two-year window that begins in September, 2013 and runs through October, 2015, (for the recognition cycle concluding in June, 2016), nominated by their Chief State School Officer (CSSO) or nominated by one of our partner recognition organizations based on outstanding scholarship.

Award Amount:

  • The given scholarship program provides student loans or grants to help students attend college.
  • Students chosen as U.S. Presidential Scholars receive an expense-paid trip to Washington, D. C. in June and the U.S. Presidential Scholars medallion at a ceremony sponsored by the White House, in commemoration of their achievements.

Deadline of the given scholarship is February 25, 2016.
