TRUE|U Student Scholarship

TRUEGRID™ is offering their TRUE|U student scholarships to advance careers across a diverse range of sustainable business, green building, and related environmental areas. Currently, an enrolled student, part-time or full-time, in a two-year, four-year, or graduate program are eligible to apply .First prize winner will receive, $2,500, second prize will receive $300, and third prize will receive $200, paid in full to assist with tuition, educational fees, and other school-related expenses.

TRUEGRID is an eco-friendly paving alternative to concrete and asphalt that provides stability and storm water detention. TRUEGRID is super durable and storm water permeable to reduce flooding as well as stop rutting and erosion by providing structure for ground stabilization.

Eligibility:

  • You are a US Citizen or a permanent resident
  • You are currently an enrolled student, part-time or full-time, in a two-year, four-year, or graduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be studying topics related to:
  1. Environmental health
  2. Natural, physical, social or life sciences
  3. Sustainability
  4. Agriculture
  5. Engineering
  6. Architecture
  7. Business

Supporting Documents:

Completed online application with the following:

  • A digital photo of self (winners will be displayed on TRUEGRID website).
  • An unofficial/official copy of your current academic transcript.
  • A short statement (50 – 100 words) about you, why you want to have a career that advocates sustainability, and how you are planning to do that.
  • Create a form of social awareness that inspires other students to focus on being eco-friendly and sustainable. This can be a video, artwork, essay or anything that would engage other students to focus on sustainability. Keep in mind this question: What is the environmental issue(s) and how can people make a difference using alternative, sustainable solutions?
  • Upload your project, video, artwork, essay or creative element of your choice. We will give you a link to share your work on social media where you can go get people to vote for your project. The more votes you get, the better your chances of winning.

Financial Aid and Award Money:

Awards are as follows:

  • First prize: $2,500
  • Second prize: $300 and
  • Third prize: $200

Application Deadline:

The candidates can apply for the given fellowship, through December 9, 2016.
