TMCF/Kellogg Company Fund Scholarship

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) is teamed up with the Kellogg Company Fund to provide scholarship termed as “TMCF | Kellogg Company Fund Scholarship”. To be eligible for the scholarship, the candidates must be enrolled as a full-time student and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Scholarship fund helps students to acquire a high-quality college education at an affordable cost, develops leaders of tomorrow and connects high performing students with top tier employment opportunities. The candidates who win will receive a one-year merit scholarship of up to $7,000.

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) is the nation’s largest organization exclusively representing the Black College Community. TMCF member-schools include the publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Predominantly Black Institutions, enrolling nearly 80% of all students attending black colleges and universities. TMCF mission is to create a pipeline for employers to highly qualified member-school students and alumni

Eligibility:

To be considered, applicants must comply with all the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student at one of TMCF’s member-schools
  • Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • Have demonstrated leadership ability through a variety of measures
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551
  • Open to college freshmen and sophomores

  • Applicants must write an essay in a maximum of 500 words, please address the following: What is your favorite book, poem, or song? How do you think it reflects your character, accomplishments, or values?

Supporting Documents:

Applicants are required to provide all of the following documents in order to be considered:

  • Resume (include leadership, employment/internship experience, community service)
  • 2017-2018 Student Aid Report (received from filing FAFSA)
  • Most recent transcript (official or unofficial)
  • Recommendation from current school professor, high school teacher, or faculty member or high school administrator (recommender must complete online)

Financial Aid and Award Money:     

Selected scholars will receive a one-year merit scholarship of up to $7,000 to cover the costs of tuition and fees, on-campus room and board and textbooks purchased from member-schools.

The deadline for Kellogg Company Fund Scholarship is April 30, 2017, 11:59 pm EST.
