The Seattle AWIS (Association for Women in Science) is glad to offer scholarship to provide financial assistance to undergraduate women who are majoring in science, math or engineering fields at four-year colleges and universities in Washington State. An AWIS scholarship program gives the women increased self-confidence to go fulfill their dreams and goals. 4-7 scholarships range between $1000 – $5000 will be given to the winning candidates.
The Association for Women in Science was founded in 1971.The aim of organization is to combat job discrimination, lower pay, and professional isolation.
Eligibility:
- Open to women who will be juniors or seniors at a four-year college or university in the state of Washington in the fall of 2016.
- Applicants must have a declared major in the sciences, engineering or mathematics.
- Applicants shall have exemplary grades, outstanding letters of recommendation, financial need, a record of community service, and a strong interest in pursuing a career in the sciences, engineering or mathematics.
- Applicants must have a United States issued social security number.

Award Amount:
Each year, they award around 4-7 scholarships ranging between $1000 – $5000 amount.
