The Rose Koury Scholarship

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is excited to announce Rose Koury Scholarship. The scholarship recognizes outstanding Northern Virginia high school seniors who plan to enter the field of early childhood or elementary education. The scholarship of $20,000 will be awarded to students who demonstrate strength of character and dedication to improving the lives of others through a career in education.

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia was founded in 1978. The Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that helps grow philanthropy to meet the most critical needs of the region.

Eligibility:

  • Graduating high school seniors, who live in Northern Virginia, demonstrate financial need and plan to pursue a career in education.
  • Scholarship is for full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university. The selection committee will consider academic achievement, financial need, dedication to the field of education, and community service.

How to Apply:

Applicants must complete an online application, to be considered for Rose Koury Scholarship. Applications will become available after February 1st.

Supporting Documents:

  • Transcripts from all high schools attended
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Copy of FAFSA or SAR

Award Amount:

  • $5,000/per for 4 years for a total of $20,000. Renewal is dependent on academic good standing and full-time enrollment in an accredited college or university.
  • Two scholarships awarded per year.

Application Deadline:

Scholarship application is due by April 1, 2016.
