The Link Foundation Fellowship

In an effort to foster education and innovation in the area of societal production and utilization of energy, the Link Foundation is proudly offering Link Foundation Energy Fellowship. The students who are working towards a Ph.D. degree are eligible to apply for the fellowship. The Link Foundation supports programs to foster the theoretical basis, practical knowledge, application of energy, simulation, ocean engineering and instrumentation research. Winning candidates will get 2-year fellowships of $28,500 per year (total of $57,000) to be used for the Fellow’s academic year and a summer stipend.

The mission of the Link Foundation is to perpetuate and enhance the recognized Link legacy of technical leadership and excellence established by the founders in their fields of interest.

Eligibility:

  • The applicant must be working toward a Ph.D. in an academic institution or have been accepted into a Ph.D. program
  • No limitations have been placed on citizenship
  • Fellowships are only tenable at U.S. and Canadian Universities

  1. A completed cover sheet (PDF) that can be downloaded from the given link: http://linkenergy.org/apply/link-foundation-energy-fellowship-coversheet-2013.pdf
  2. A 500-word project description. Although the format is flexible and up to the applicant, descriptions will generally present the idea(s) to be investigated, objectives and rationale, relationship to current activities in the field, and anticipated impact on societal energy use. A maximum of one page of references and/or figures referred to in the project description. These do not count toward the 500-word limit
  3. Three letters of recommendation, one of which should be from the research supervisor
  4. A current resume
  5. Only one copy is needed and a cover letter should not be submitted
