The Big Launch Challenge, a joint venture between the Launch Place and the First Flight Venture Center that is created to showcase technology-related business ideas in a highly competitive environment. The competition is designed to Startups from the nanotechnology, green technology, alternative energy, advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, medical devices, and information technology industries. The goal of Big Launch Challenge is to foster entrepreneurship by offering education, team creation, mentorship, early-stage prototyping, and potential follow-on seed financing. The total award range of the scholarship is $32,000.
The Launch Place strives to foster an environment for new and serial entrepreneurs to raise capital and garner the support system needed to take their products and/or solutions into the marketplace. By doing so, The Launch Place has positioned the Danville City and Pittsylvania County region of Virginia and Caswell County in North Carolina, to become once again a hub for innovation.
Eligibility:
Startups from the nanotechnology, green technology, alternative energy, advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, medical devices, and information technology industries are invited to apply for The Big Launch Challenge’s fourth year.
