SWE Scholarship Program

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is pleased to introduce you SWE Scholarship Program. Women must be planning to study an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year to be eligible for the scholarship. The program is intended to provide financial assistance to women studying baccalaureate or graduate programs. SWE awarded approximately 230 new and renewed scholarships valued at over $750,000. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $15,000 each and some are renewable.

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) was founded in 1950, is a not-for-profit educational and service organization in the United States. SWE mission stimulates women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.

Eligibility:

To receive the Society of Women Engineers Scholarship, a beneficiary must:

  • Only women are eligible.
  • Undergraduate applicants must be planning to study an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year.
  • Master’s and D. candidates must be enrolled or accepted at a school with ABET-accredited programs in engineering, computing, or technology.
  • You must be planning to attend full-time (exceptions are made for re-entry and non-traditional applicants).

Supporting Documents:

A faculty reference, a personal reference, and (if applicable) a university financial aid contact is required.

Financial Aid and Award Money:     

Scholarships range from $1,000 to $15,000 each and some are renewable.

Application Deadline: 

The scholarship application for freshmen will open on March 1, 2017, and the deadline to apply is May 1, 2017.
