Susan McDonald Nursing Student Research Award

The University of Virginia School of Nursing would like to announce Susan McDonald Nursing Student Research Award. Undergraduate students in the School of Nursing registered for undergraduate courses with the School of Nursing can apply for the award program. The award is intended to promote a creative, new, and scholarly experience for the student and may be used to assist faculty with ongoing research. $2,000 will go towards the winner’s educational pursuits.

The University of Virginia School of Nursing, established in 1901, is a world-renowned school of nursing education. For more than one hundred years, it has been at the forefront of nursing education, service, and research.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate students in the School of Nursing registered for undergraduate courses with the School of Nursing are eligible to the Research Award.

Supporting Documents:

You will need to provide the following information

  • Student summary: students should submit a one-page summary of their interest in the experience and project objectives.
  • Faculty Letter: Faculty mentor should submit a one-page summary summarizing the project and addressing how the faculty member will mentor the student.
  • One paragraph of the faculty page should address the student’s individual strengths for this particular research study.
  • Provide budget justification of the use of funds requested.

Financial Aid and Award Money:             

The candidate who will win the scholarship program will receive a one-time scholarship award in the amount of $2,000.

Application Deadline:

Scholarship submission is due by October 15, 2017.
