STEM Scholar Master’s Program Scholarship

There is unique and amazing opportunity to receive University of Wisconsin-Platteville National Science Foundation “STEM Scholar Master’s Program Scholarship” funded by the National Science Foundation. U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident of the U.S. who have an undergraduate degree in a STEM field can apply for the scholarship. The goal of the scholarship is to increase the number of students in STEM disciplines and the number of employees in STEM fields, especially among underrepresented populations. The STEM Scholar who will win the scholarship program will get a maximum of $10,000 throughout their two?year program.

The National Science Foundation is a United States government agency that supports fundamental research and education in all the non-medical fields of science and engineering. Its medical counterpart is the National Institutes of Health.

Eligibility:

  • Must have an undergraduate degree in a STEM field.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident of the U.S.
  • Must be a new admit to one of the following programs for Fall 2017:
  1. Master of Science in Engineering
  2. Master of Science in Project Management
  3. Master of Science in Integrated Supply Chain Management
  • Transfer students will be considered. The scholarship may be pro-rated for students completing the program in less than the projected two years.
  • Must be academically achieving (minimum of 3.0 undergraduate GPA).
  • Must register for a total of 12-18 credits throughout fall, spring, and summer semesters.While the focus will be on full-time students taking 9 credits, consideration will also be given to students taking a total of 12-18 credits throughout fall, spring, and summer semesters.
  • Demonstrate financial need through completion of the FAFSA

  • To be considered for the scholarship applicants must write an essay, the essay should be 500-1,000 words. You must explain in your essay how a Master’s degree in your selected STEM field will help you achieve your career goals. You should include additional information pertaining to your financial need.

Supporting Documents:

  • Send a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) to be eligible for this scholarship.
  • The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and the SAR is sent to you in an email after completion.
