The Somos Foundation is awarding scholarship for Hispanic students, who demonstrate leadership in school, community or other service activities and who needs financial aid. The Somos scholarship helps Hispanic students to achieve their academic goals. The students are motivated by having the support and networking opportunities provided by Somos’ Student Academy.
The Somos Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening Utah’s Hispanic community. Somos is creating community leaders by giving Hispanic students opportunities to get educated, mentored, and connected with local leaders.
Eligibility:
To be considered for scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be of Hispanic/Latino descent
- Currently live in Utah
- Be a student enrolled as a senior in high school, or a student in college, university, or vocational school in the state of Utah
- Be making satisfactory progress toward the student’s program objective (degree, diploma, or certificate)
- Have demonstrated leadership in school, community and/or other service organizations that promote, enhance or strengthen diversity

Supporting Documents:
1.Write a brief personal history that includes:
- Academic, professional, and personal goals
- Reasons why you feel you are a viable candidate for this scholarship
- Scholarly or vocational accomplishments, honors, special awards, or recognition you have received.
- Community and school involvement; include leadership positions and/or activities.
- Personal barriers/hardships you have had to overcome to achieve your educational goals.
2. A copy of applicant’s high school or college transcript
3.Two letters of recommendation. At least one letter from an individual qualified to judge your academic, leadership, and personal qualifications. Counselor or teacher recommended
