The Research Grants

At Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Research grants are intended to support basic science research. United States residents and applicants from outside the United States are welcome to apply. Support is available for $100,000 per year (plus 8 percent for indirect costs) for up to two years, at which time a grant may be competitively renewed for additional funding.

The Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Scholarship

The Rimington Trophy Scholarship

The Boomer Esiason Foundation established the Rimington Trophy Scholarship in 2012 to recognize individuals who are living, breathing and succeeding with cystic fibrosis.Applicants must have cystic fibrosis and demonstrate scholastic ability, character, leadership, service to the community, need for financial assistance and daily compliance to CF therapy. The Exercise for Life Scholarship

BEF’s Exercise for Life Scholarship will be awarded to one male & female high school student and one male & female undergraduate student (who have cystic fibrosis) on the basis of demonstrated financial need, academic accomplishment and athletic ability in the area of running. BEF will grant one male and one female high school student $10,000 and one male and one female undergraduate student $10,000. Grants are made directly to the academic institution to assist in covering the cost of tuition and fees.

The Living Breath Foundation Scholarship

The Living Breath Foundation is open to individuals with Cystic Fibrosis who are graduating from high school or continuing their higher education at a 2 year, 4 years or trade school, are currently living in California or Arizona, and are a US citizen. Grants range from $1000 to $5000 and are made directly to the recipient to assist in covering any of the following; tuition, books or the extra expenses of going to school while having Cystic Fibrosis, which can include: private rooms, rooms with running water, bathrooms, food and parking.
