Robert S. Hilbert Memorial Optical Design Competition

The Synopsys Optical Solutions Group invites you to participate in Robert S. Hilbert Memorial Optical Design Competition. Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program in North America, working toward a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. can apply for the scholarship program. To participate, students can enter an optical design class assignment or thesis work that uses CODE V or LightTools. Awards totaling $4,000 will be granted by the Synopsys Optical Solutions Group.

Synopsys’ Optical Solutions Group is a leading developer of optical design and analysis tools that model all aspects of light propagation, enabling users to produce accurate virtual prototypes leading to manufacturable optical systems optical design and analysis software.

Eligibility:

All Scholarship applicants must be:

Be currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program in North America, working toward a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D.
Your work must have been completed using CODE V or LightTools software, and demonstrate knowledge of optics, optical engineering, and optical design software.
Have not won this competition in prior years.

Complete the entry form, which includes obtaining the Instructor Certification at the bottom.
Attach your scanned entry form,
Your optical design project, and CODE V® or LightTools® files.
Make a copy of the completed entry form for your records
Submit entry form original and an original copy of your optical design project. If available, please submit
Electronic CODE V or LightTools files on a CD.
