The NSHSS Foundation STEM Scholarship

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) Foundation is pleased to announce the “STEM scholarships” for underrepresented groups in order to help reduce financial barriers for those with academic and leadership potential and the desire to pursue STEM careers. High school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated a desire to major in any area of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics are eligible. A particular goal of the NSHSS is to help increase the representation of African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, and females in careers where these targeted groups are under-represented. The STEM Scholarship Program worth $1,000 college scholarship to the winners.

The mission of The National Society of High School Scholars Foundation is to support education in the form of scholarships targeted to underrepresented minorities who express interest in pursuing careers that: fuel the global economy, stimulate innovation and creativity, or yield a strong ethical foundation for decision-making.

Eligibility:

  • High school seniors who are pursuing a degree in, or closely related to, one of the following STEM disciplines:

Aeronautical and Astronautically Engineering, Biosciences/Pre-med/health-related fields, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive, Neural, and Behavioral Sciences, Computer and Computational Sciences, including Statistics and Accounting, Electrical Engineering, Geosciences, Information Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Oceanography, Operations Research, Physics, Teaching in STEM areas

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Photo
  • List of STEM activities must be submitted for all NSHSS Foundation scholarships (The STEM Scholarship requires a list of STEM activities in lieu of a resume)
  • Educator recommendation: One educator recommendation will be applied to all NSHSS Foundation scholarships.

Financial Aid and Award Money:

The NSHSS Foundation provides $1,000 STEM scholarships.

Application Deadline:
