The Northern Ohio Chapter of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (NOHIMSS) takes pleasure in offering scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students. The scholarship is open for those students who have the intention to practice in the North Eastern Ohio area and for those who demonstrate excellence and future leadership potential in the healthcare information and management systems industry.
The mission of Northern Ohio Chapter of HIMSS is to enhance professional knowledge, create forums for networking and foster leadership at the individual and corporate level.
Eligibility:
Applicants for the NOHIMSS Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Applicant must be attending an accredited educational program at least half time as determined by the educational institution
- Applicant must be in good academic standing as determined by the educational institution
- Student must be a declared major in a program related to healthcare information management. The specific degree is not critical to the decision but it is expected that healthcare informatics, computer science, information systems management and quantitative courses in business administration and hospital administration will be a significant portion of the program
- Preference will be given to first time scholarship applicants

The applicant must submit the following information:
- A completed application form
- A personal statement relating to the applicant’s involvement with and future plans in the healthcare information management field
- A Resume or Curriculum Vitae
- Most Recent Grade Report
Completed application packets may be emailed to the NOHIMSS Scholarship Review Board: northernohio.scholarship-at-himsschapter.org
Scholarships Awarded:
- Scholarships will be awarded annually to a Baccalaureate, Master’s or Ph.D. student enrolled in an accredited academic program related to healthcare information and management systems.
- The scholarship winner will also be awarded registration for attendance at the two annual NOHIMSS Conferences.
Award Amount:
$2000 award amount will be given to the winning candidates.

Application deadline is July 15, 2015.
