NCM Network Lisa Davidson Memorial Scholarship

The Nonprofit Communications and Media Network (NCM Network) has announced the Lisa Davidson Memorial Scholarship Program. It is open for college sophomores and juniors majoring in communications, journalism, and radio or television communications at a four-year Southern California college or university. The purpose of this scholarship program is to recognize outstanding students who demonstrate excellent potential for improving the lives of the Southern California community through a communications career. The winner candidate will receive $2,500 for school-related expenditures, such as tuition, fees, and books.

The Nonprofit Communications and Media Network (NCM Network), previously known as PIRATES, is a nonprofit organization made up of community affairs directors from radio and television stations, representatives of print publications, and public relations professionals from nonprofit agencies throughout Southern California.

Eligibility:

The scholarship is open to full-time sophomore or junior in good standing, attending an accredited four-year college or university located in Southern California and that still be attending a Southern California school in the fall of 2017.

 Supporting Documents:

Applicant must submit:

  • Complete the application found on page two of this form.
  • Submit a minimum of two or a maximum of three letters of recommendation from a professor, department chair, community organization or employer.
  • Submit a copy of official college or university transcripts indicating all courses taken.
  • Submit samples of printed, audio, video or other materials, which demonstrate your communications ability. Samples will not be returned.

Financial Aid and Award Money:

  • The winning candidate will receive 2,500 scholarship awards.
  • The scholarship award will be distributed in two installments: September 2017 and January 2018.

Application Deadline:

Applications will be accepted starting in January 2017, and the application deadline is April 30, 2017.
