National Geospatial Preparedness Summit Travel Scholarship

The National Alliance for Public Safety GIS Foundation is pleased to announce “National Geospatial Preparedness Summit” that presents a limited number of travel scholarships to support participation by local, state, and tribal practitioners in the 2016. NGPS is the Nation’s only preparedness summit dedicated to advancing the use of location-enabled decision technology and data. Scholarship applicants must be active?duty local, state, or tribal public safety or GIS practitioners. Winners will obtain $500 award amount.

The National Alliance for Public Safety GIS Foundation is a 501 (C) (3) not-for-profit organization that was formed in 2005 to overcome the challenges faced by Federal, tribal, state, and local public safety agencies.

Eligibility:

  • Scholarship applicants must be active?duty local, state, or tribal public safety or GIS practitioners. An applicant must officially represent a local or state government agency or tribal organization.
  • Public safety refers to, but is not limited to: fire service, emergency medical services, law enforcement, search & rescue, emergency management, 911 dispatch, public health, animal emergency response, mass care, and fusion centers.
  • Eligible applicants must be more than 100 miles from Washington, DC.

Interested applicants are welcome to email the completed scholarship application to Summit-at-publicsafetygis.org

Award Amount:

The NGPS Scholarship Program will provide a $500 scholarship that can be used for any travel expense, which will be sent to recipients within 30 days after the Summit.

Application Deadline:

Application must be postmarked by May 27, 2016.
