Lake Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship

Lake Institute on Faith & Giving at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy is pleased to offer a one year “Lake Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship”. The program is open to a graduate student, whose research engages, intersects issues within religion, philanthropy or faith, and giving. The fellowship is intended to support the final year of dissertation writing. The winners will get a one-year doctoral dissertation fellowship of $22,000 for the academic year 2017-2018.

The Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy plays a leading role in moving philanthropy forward across the country and around the world.

Eligibility:

To apply for the Lake Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, the candidates must:

  • Be a candidate for a Ph.D. degree at a graduate school in the United States
  • Not have received a similar grant or fellowship for the writing of the dissertation
  • Not accept other awards that provide similar benefits in the same academic year

Financial Aid and Award Money:

The fellowship award will be paid in three installments:

  • Receive three award payments totaling $22,000
  1. $10,000 at the beginning of the 2017-2018 academic year
  2. $10,000 at the mid-point of the 2017-2018 academic year
  3. $2,000 upon the successful completion of the dissertation
  • Be invited to special research-focused Lake Institute engagement
  • Have the opportunity to take advantage of the Lake Institute’s resources and expertise
  • Share your research through the website and citations in their seminars

Application Deadline:

The submission of fellowship application will close on January 31, 2017.
