Google Online Marketing Challenge

The Google Online Marketing Challenge is a unique opportunity for students to experience and create online marketing campaigns using Google AdWords. The Challenge is open to student teams of three to six members from undergraduate or graduate programs, regardless of their major and professor, a faculty member, lecturer, or instructor. All students must register under a verified faculty member, lecturer or instructor currently employed by an accredited higher education institute. Three awards will be distributed such as AdWords Business Awards, AdWords Social Impact Awards, and AdWords Certification Awards.

Google Inc, is an American multinational technology company specializing in Internet-related services and products that include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, software, and hardware.

Eligibility:

  • The scholarship is open to the “Professor” i.e. a faculty member, lecturer, or instructor currently employed by a vocational school, community college, or other accredited institution of higher education (each a “Higher Education Institute”). Professors must verify their Student Team’s registration using the online verification procedure outlined on google.com/onlinechallenge (the “Competition Website”). Google will not accept registration requests received by any other route and after the deadline specified on the Competition Website.
  • Scholarship is also available for Student” i.e. a student who (a) is enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course at any Higher Education Institute (see section 4 below) in any of the following regions: Americas, Europe, MEA (the Middle East and Africa) or Asia Pacific, (b) studies under the direction of a Professor (see section 4 below) affiliated with a Higher Education Institute, and (c) is over the age of majority in the country where they reside.

Actual total retail value of the Global Winner’s Prize is approximate USD$30,000 (based on a Student Team of 6 Students)

AdWords Social Impact Awards

  •  The AdWords Social Impact Awards 1st-place prize includes:
  1. A USD$15,000 donation by Google to the winning Student Team’s Competition Client
  2. For each Student in the winning Student Team, a portable computing device with a maximum retail value of approximately USD$500 (although residents of some countries will receive alternate prizes of equal or greater value at Google’s discretion)
  3. For each Student in the winning Student Team and their Professor, an invitation to participate in a Hangout with a Googler selected from a wide range of teams, including the AdWords Team, Google for Nonprofits, Google.org and more (to be scheduled at Google’s discretion)and
  4. For each Student in the winning Student Team and their Professor, a personalized certificate of appreciation noting their status as a prize winner in the Competition.
  • The AdWords Social Impact Awards 2nd-place prize includes:
  1. A USD$10,000 donation by Google to the winning Student Team’s Competition Client and
  2. For each Student in the winning Student Team, a portable computing device with a maximum retail value of approximately USD$500 (although residents of some countries will receive alternate prizes of equal or greater value at Google’s discretion) and
  3. For each Student in the winning Student Team and their Professor, a personalized certificate of appreciation noting their status as a prize winner in the Competition

  1. A USD$5,000 donation by Google to the winning Student Team’s Competition Client

  3. For each Student in the winning Student Team and their Professor, a personalized certificate of appreciation noting their status as a prize winner in the Competition

AdWords Certification Awards

Prizes will be awarded to the Global AdWords Certification Winner and each Regional AdWords Certification Winner as follows:

  1. Each Student in the Global AdWords Certification Winner’s Student Team will receive a portable computing device with a maximum retail value of approximately USD$500 (although residents of some countries will receive alternate prizes of equal or greater value at Google’s discretion). The actual total retail value of the Global AdWords Certification Winner’s Prize for the winning Student Team is approximately USD$3000 (based on a team of 6 Students).
  2. Each Student in the Regional AdWords Certification Winner’s Student Team will receive a portable computing device with a maximum retail value of approximately USD$500 (although residents of some countries will receive alternate prizes of equal or greater value at Google’s discretion).

Application Deadline:

  • In order to get started, Professors must register for the Challenge, verify their account and get approved by Google. Professors can register for the Challenge any time from October 5, 2016, to March 22, 2017.
  • Students can register from October 5, 2016 – April 5, 2017, on this page.
