The Eskew Law Scholarship

There are many children whose life experiences potentially jeopardize the educational opportunities available to them, unfortunately. Children are our greatest resource and it is of the utmost importance that as a nation. For this reason, “Eskew Law, LLC” is proudly to offering scholarship for college-bound or current college students who are children of convicted felons. Purpose of the program is to invest in the future of all children, whose futures are at risk due to unfavorable circumstances at home.The program will pay award a $1,500 scholarship to the one applicant.

The Eskew Law LLC is a premier boutique law firm that specializes in criminal defense, family law matters, and bankruptcy filings. It’s one singular goal in their mindto help the people of Indiana who are struggling with situations that they cannot handle on their own.

Eligibility:

To be eligible, a participant must:

  • Be graduating high school in 2016 or currently enrolled in an accredited technical school, college, or university in the U.S
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Have a parent who has been convicted of a felony
  • Maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (or equivalent)
  • Submit a 500+ word essay

How to Apply:

A participant must:

  • Write a 500+ word essay sharing their story by answering the prompt: How has being a child of a convicted felon impacted your life and what has your parent’s conviction taught you?
  • Provide his/her first and last name, email address, home address, and phone number listed at the beginning of the essay
  • Include a copy of his/her transcript or any form of attendance verification at an accredited postsecondary institution and
  • Submit documented proof confirming his or her parent’s felony conviction

Submitting Details:

Financial Aid and Award Money:

  • The Indianapolis criminal defense attorneys at Eskew Law, LLC will review each entry and award a $1,500 scholarship to the one applicant
  • The scholarship can be applied towards any school-related costs, such as tuition, boarding, school supplies, or books

Application Deadline:

The application deadline is December 1, 2016
