The East-West Center (EWC) accepts applications from scholars and analysts for its Fellowship Program. Applicants with or without a Ph.D., who wish to undertake research and writing on topics of relevance to contemporary US-Asia policy, can apply. The Center is particularly interested in proposals regarding key challenges in U.S.-Asia relations and possible responses and approaches to addressing those challenges. The fellowship includes a monthly stipend of US$2,500 to $5,000 (dependent upon experience) and many more benefits.
The East-West Center (EWC) is an independent, public, nonprofit organization with funding from the U.S. government and additional support provided by private agencies, individuals, foundations, corporations, and governments in the region.
Eligibility:
- Applicants with or without a Ph.D. will be considered, those without a Ph.D. will be considered based on their relevant professional experience
- Applicants must be nationals of a country from the Asia-Pacific or the United States (see below for a list of eligible countries) and eligible to receive a fellowship stipend.

Successful applications will include the following:
- A full CV
- Two letters of reference
- A policy-relevant research proposal of five pages (double-spaced). Each proposal must make the case that the proposed project can be completed in three months and that a fellowship in Washington, D.C. would further this research
Financial Aid and Award Money:
The fellowship includes a monthly stipend of US $2,500 to $5,000 (dependent upon experience) while in residence at EWC in Washington, round trip economy airfare to Washington, D.C., and reimbursement of any applicable visa fees.
