Harwood Union High School students are encouraged to apply for a Duxbury-Waterbury community scholarship fund that is established by The Alchemist Foundation. The Duxbury-Waterbury scholarship is designed for the students who are concerned about money and want to pursue higher education.
The Duxbury-Waterbury Opportunity Fund is a community scholarship fund created in 2013 for local Harwood students by The Alchemist Foundation.
Eligibility:
The scholarship is for current Harwood Union High School seniors, graduating in June, 2015 and who are:
- Earning a B average
- Planning to attend college or an accredited technical training program in 2015-2016
- Living in Duxbury or Waterbury
- In financial need (if your annual household income is under $80,000, you are more likely to qualify for this scholarship)

- The Application Form
- A copy of your transcript (which you would get from Guidance)
- The last page (confirmation page) of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA – http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/), showing your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) OR the statement provided by your school showing your cost of attendance less financial aid & merit awards
- Three (3) Recommendations
- One from a teacher
- One from a community member (not family)
- One from a friend of yours
Award Amount:
The winning candidates will get scholarship amount of $1,500 per year, renewable for up to 4 years.
Application Deadline:
Deadline for 2015 scholarship application is May 26, 2015.
