Disability Care Center Scholarships

The Disability Care Center is proud to offer two scholarships termed as The Disabled Student Scholarship and The Special Education Scholarship. All applicants who apply for one of the scholarship programs must be full-time students in pursuit of a college degree. The scholarships can help further the education of American college students who are either disabled or seeking a degree in special education. Winning candidate of each scholarship will get $500 award amount.

The goal of Disability Care Center is to navigate Americans through any stage of the Social Security Disability process while offering comprehensive resources in one concentrated location.

Eligibility:

  • The applicant must be enrolled in a U.S. college institution.
  • The applicant must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours of classes for the upcoming fall semester.
  • The applicant must have a GPA of at least 2.5 from their most recent transcript (college or high school).
  • The applicant must have one letter of recommendation from a creditable source.
  • The applicant must be a legal resident of the United States.

How to Apply:

Write an essay based on the topic provided for the scholarship you are applying for as The Disabled Student Scholarship or The Special Education Scholarship. Each scholarship has its own topic and all essays should be between 500 and 1,500 words.

• Essay topic for The Disabled Student Scholarship: Describe an obstacle or hardship that arose due to your condition and how you were able to overcome it. Explain the impact it has had on your life and how it will influence you in the future.
• Essay topic for The Special Education Scholarship: Explain why you are pursuing a degree in special education and how you plan to make a difference in the lives of the disabled.

Supporting Documents:

Essentially we there will need a copy of the applicant’s:

  • College acceptance letter or college ID
  • Upcoming fall class schedule (confirming 12 credit hours or more)
  •  Most recent transcript (college or high school)
  • Valid ID or documentation confirming legal residency (driver’s license, passport, etc.)

Submitting Details:

The candidates can submit the application, essay, and other additional information and documents required to scholarship-at-disabilitycarecenter.org.

Award Amount:

• The Disabled Student Scholarship award is $500.
• The Special Education Scholarship award is $500.

Application Deadline:

Application deadline for both scholarships is August 1, 2016.
