Defenders of Wildlife's 8th Annual Photo Contest

Defenders of Wildlife is pleased to announce its 8th Annual Photo Contest. The contest is open to all photographers at least 18 years of age. The contest has two categories as wild lands and imperiled wildlife. They are looking for outstanding photographs of wild habitat and imperiled species that highlight the beauty and wonder of life in North America. The winning candidates will get a $1,000 grand-prize gift certificate to B&H Photo Video or other prizes.

Founded in 1947, Defenders of Wildlife is a major national conservation organization focused solely on wildlife and habitat conservation and the safeguarding of biodiversity. One of the Defenders of Wildlife’s main focuses is the protection and restoration of North America’s imperiled wildlife and wild North American landscapes.

Eligibility:

The Defenders of Wildlife photography contest (the “contest”) is open to all photographers at least 18 years of age.

How to Apply:

  • For entering the contest you can submit a total of up to six photographs should accurately reflect the reality of the subject matter and the scene as it naturally appeared. Slight digital adjustments of color, contrast, and exposure are allowed, as is cropping. However, photos that have been heavily digitally altered or digital composites
  • All entries must be submitted electronically as JPEG files using the web-based entry form. You must submit your photo for the contest through the given link: http://photocontest.defenders.org/

Financial Aid and Award Money:

  • The grand prize winner, as determined by the visitors of the website, will receive a $1,000 gift certificate to B&H Photo Video.
  • The other prize winners will also receive gift certificates to B&H Photo Video: The first-prize winner in each category will receive a $750 gift certificate, the second prize winner in each category will receive a $250 gift certificate, and the third prize winner in each category will receive a $75 gift certificate.

Application Deadline:

The deadline for submitting entries is 11:59 p.m. PST on March 24, 2017.
