The Center for Mexican American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin would like to announce their annual competition short-term research fellowship named as “CMAS-LLILAS Benson Latin American Studies and Collections Research Fellowship”. The fellowship is designed to post-doctoral scholars, Ph.D. candidates or holders. The fellowship is aimed to support the educational needs of students of Mexican American and U.S. Latino culture and history. Five (5) fellowships of $1,000 each will be given by the Center for Mexican American Studies for the winners.
The Department of Mexican American and Latina/ Studies, the Center for Mexican American Studies, and the Latino Research Initiative comprise a unique cluster of units that serve a critical academic, outreach and research mission at The University of Texas at Austin.
Eligibility:
This fellowship program is applicable for:
- Post-doctoral scholars, Ph.D. candidates
- Holders of other terminal degrees from outside the Austin area who have a specific need to use the Mexican American and Borderlands collections at the Benson Library
- Mexican American and/or experiences of the U.S. Mexico Borderlands

Financial Aid and Award Money:
For summer 2017, they will offer five (5) $1,000 fellowships to the winning candidates.
