Arts for Life is now accepting scholarship application from graduating high school seniors, who demonstrate excellence in creative writing, dance, drama, music or visual art. The mission is to improve the quality of education in classrooms across Florida and the nation by sponsoring innovative programs based on high academic standards, accountability, school choice and quality teaching. The organization is awarding $1,000 scholarships to 25 Florida high school seniors and also winners will be automatically eligible to receive $1,000 a matching in-kind scholarship in their College Matching scholarship Programs.
The Arts for Life Program is presented by the Foundation for Excellence in Education, a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit charitable organization launched in 2007 by Jeb Bush, Governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007.
Eligibility:
Students who are graduating from a public, private, or virtual school or a home education program in Florida during the current school year.

Supporting Documents:
The candidates must also submit the following documents:
- Artist Release Form signed by the applicant or legal guardian
- Resume
- Essay
- Applicants are required to submit an essay on “How the arts have positively influenced my life”.
- Essay should be 500 words or less.
- Typed double-spaced in standard font, such as Times New Roman, 12 point.
- Portfolio of work

Financial Aid and Award Money:
- $1,000 scholarships to 25 graduating high school seniors will be given.
- Winners will be automatically eligible to receive a matching in-kind scholarship worth a minimum $1,000 if they attend one of the In addition to the program’s $1,000 cash award, winners will be automatically eligible to receive a matching in-kind scholarship if they attend a participating Florida institution for higher education listed on our College Matching Program page. Launched by former First Lady Columba Bush in 1999, the program has awarded scholarships to more than 425 gifted high school seniors.
Application Deadline:
The 2016-17 application periods are open from September 1-February 1.
