The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) is proud to announce the Helen M. Woodruff Fellowship. The fellowship is a pre- or post-doctoral fellowship for study of archaeology and classical studies has been established by the Institute at the American Academy in Rome. All applicants who are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States are eligible for the fellowship program. Each year, the AIA gives out competitive fellowships to support the research and study of scholars and students. The winners of the Helen M. Woodruff Fellowship will receive up to $10,000 award.
The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) is North America’s oldest and largest organization devoted to the world of archaeology. The Institute is a nonprofit group founded in 1879 and chartered by the United States Congress in 1906. The AIA promotes archaeological inquiry and public understanding of the material record of the human past to foster an appreciation of diverse cultures and our shared humanity.
Eligibility:
- Applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States. The AAR receives all applications.
- At the conclusion of the fellowship tenure, recipients must submit a report to the Chair of the AIA Fellowships Committee and the President of the AAR.
