Academic Programs International (API) Scholarship

Academic Programs International (API), a URI-affiliated program, is providing the scholarship for URI students who are participating on an API summer or semester program. The scholarship provides an award between $500 and $1,000 to URI students. Scholarship application will be judged on the basis of both merit/academic promise as well as the financial need demonstrated by the applicant.

API was founded in 1997 by four women which is dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable study abroad programs for U.S. students. Academic Programs International (API) is an educational organization dedicated to providing challenging and enriching study abroad programs for students.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must have a minimum 2.75 GPA
  • URI students participating on an API summer or semester program are eligible to apply

How to Apply:

Supporting Material:

Write an essay that describes interests and goals for your studies abroad and explain the personal benefits you expect to receive from your study abroad experience. Applicants with financial need or have demonstrated distinction or recognition in scholarship, leadership, to the URI campus or community at large, should also address these topics in their essay. This essay should not exceed 500 words.

Award Amount:

This scholarship provides an award between $500 and $1,000 to URI students.

Application Deadline:

October 1 is the deadline for spring participants.
