The National Graduate Fellowship Program (NGFP) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and administered by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. It provides participants with training and practical experience that contribute to a safer world.This is a full-time and salaried fellowship program opens for highly motivated graduate-level students interested in a career in nuclear security.NGFP offers 40-50 positions annually. Fellows working directly in NNSA offices nationwide and receive as salary up to $52,000/year ($62,000 post-docs), Hiring incentive-$4,000, Health care benefits, Paid vacation/holidays, and Tuition Reimbursement.
National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is responsible for stewardship of the nation’s nuclear weapons, nuclear nonproliferation, and naval reactor programs. Established by the United States Congress in 2000, NNSA is a semi-autonomous agency within the United States Department of Energy.
Eligibility:
- To eligible, the applicant must meet all the following criteria to the NGFP:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be eligible for security clearance based on position requirements (see below for more detail)
- Have a career interest in U.S. and global nuclear security
- Demonstrate maturity, good judgment, and self-motivation
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in an integrated and diverse environment
- Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in a graduate program at the time of application,
- Have completed a graduate degree program within 12 months prior to the application deadline,
- Have a final and current cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 in the graduate degree program
- Some participants may be able to take advantage of the tuition reimbursement benefit and choose to continue their graduate studies during their term.
