Young Adult Bike Travel Scholarship

Adventure Cycling Association is glad to announce two scholarships named as Intro to Bike Travel Scholarship and Outdoor Leadership Scholarship. The goal of scholarships are to provide young adults, ages 18-25, with access to bicycle travel through participation in either an Adventure Cycling Leadership Training Course or Introduction to Road Touring course. Two successful candidates will be selected to participate in one of Adventure Cycling’s 2015 educational courses.

Adventure Cycling Association was established in 1973. The mission of association is to inspire and empower people to travel by bicycle.

Eligibility:

Whether you are new to bicycle travel or looking to build your outdoor leadership skills, this program is here to help get you in the saddle and out on the road by providing classes and resources to young adults ages 18 to 25.

How to Apply:

  • Applicants can only apply to the Outdoor Leadership or the Intro to Bike Travel scholarship. Applying to both programs will result in a disqualification.

Award Amount:

  • Two successful candidates will be selected to participate in one of Adventure Cycling’s 2015educational courses.
  • Each scholarship covers transportation to attend one of the courses, the cost of the course (which includes meals and accommodations), as well as a new touring bicycle outfitted with bike travel gear such as panniers.

Application Deadline:

The 2016 application period opens on Monday, November 2, 2015 and closes at midnight (EST) on December 31, 2015.
