Minority Affairs Committee's Scholarship Awards

 

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is pleased to offer “Minority Affairs Committee’s Scholarship Awards” for Incoming College Freshmen. Be a high school graduates during the current academic year and be members of a minority group that is under-represented in chemical engineering, i.e., African-American, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan Native, Pacific Islander to apply for the scholarship. AIChE mission is to promote excellence in chemical engineering education and global practice. Individual awards for the full academic year will be $1,000.

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is a professional organization for chemical engineers. AIChE was established in 1908 to distinguish chemical engineers as a profession independent of chemists and mechanical engineers.

Eligibility:

All Scholarship applicants must be:

  • Applicants must plan to enroll during the current academic year in a four-year college or university offering a science/engineering degree.
  • Students are encouraged to choose classes leading to a degree in chemical engineering.
  • While students admitted for science and engineering degrees are encouraged to apply for this scholarship, preference will be given to students admitted into chemical engineering degree programs.

Financial Aid and Award Money:             

Approximately 10 scholarships are presented annually and the award amount for each scholarship is $1,000.
