Hispanic Women in Leadership (HWIL) is glad to announce scholarship program. HWIL awards scholarship to graduating seniors and women returning to college or attending college, vocational or technical school for the first time. The organization shall strive to provide a forum for addressing issues affecting the Hispanic community. Scholarship amount of $1000 per awardee will be given to the winning candidates.

Hispanic Women in Leadership (HWIL) is a Houston based 501 (c) 3 volunteer organization which encourages and promotes the development and advancement of all women in general and Hispanic women in particular.

Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in a college or university in Texas.
  • Applicant must reside in Harris County.
  • Applicants should be in good academic standing in their high school, or college/university/ vocational/technical school.

How to Apply:

For applying the scholarship, the applicants must complete the scholarship application forms. Candidates can download by the given link:

Supporting Documents:

  • Write an essay on the topic of “What makes a Latina a leader?”
  • Provide two letters of recommendation
  • Provide current transcript in high school or college/university/ vocational/technical school within the state of Texas
  • Provide Certification by Applicant, Authorization for Verification and Hold Harmless Agreement/Release
