Haitian Scholarship Program

Haitian Microfinance, Inc. is pleased to offer scholarship for the students who are currently enrolled in an accredited high school, college, or university in the North-East region of Florida.  $1,000 scholarship award will be given to the deserving candidate. Haitian American Association for Advancement (HAAFA) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving, organizing and enhancing the life of Haitians.

 Eligibility:

To be considered for HAAFA Scholarship Program, the candidates must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited high school, college, or university in the North-East region of Florida
  • Be Haitian or Haitian-American and reside in North-East Florida
  • Be involved in the Haitian community or any other form of volunteerism on or off campus
  • Be able to provide a copy of most recent GPA report
  • Be able to provide two written references from teachers as to character and academic achievement.

For applying the scholarship, the candidates must fill the on-line scholarship application form. The link is:

Supporting Documents:

The candidates must also upload the following documents:

  • A copy of most recent GPA report
  • Two written references from teachers as to character and academic achievement
  • Proof of school enrollment
  • A Short Essay of at least 300 words, titled: “How I Wish to Benefit Haiti.”

 Award Amount:

$1,000 scholarship award will be given to the winning candidate.

Application Deadline:

Deadline for submit the complete on-line scholarship application form is October 15, 2015.
