Generation No Kid Hungry Photo Essay Contest

Weareteachers is pleased to announce the Generation No Kid Hungry Photo Essay Contest. The contest is open for U.S. students in grades-7-12. Just add your voice and vision to the fight against childhood hunger and you might be one of 12 prize winners. One in five children lives in households that struggle to put food on the table as 16 million Americans. Generation No Kid Hungry believes teens can make a difference.

Eligibility:

U.S. students in grades-7-12 are encouraged to apply for the Generation No Kid Hungry Photo Essay Contest.

How to Apply:

For applying the essay contest, the candidates must complete the entry contest form. The link is:

Supporting Document:

  • The candidates must also submit an essay of 500-800 words and 3-5 original photographs, address the problem of childhood hunger in the United States. How does childhood hunger affect the lives of teens and children either from your own life or the lives of others where you live?
  • Your essay can be whatever you want it to be: personal, persuasive, objective, political. Use the photographs effectively to help deliver the message or tell the story you want to tell.

Award Amount:

  • Three each grand-prize winner will receive a $500 Visa gift card and a $200 donation to his or her school.
  • 9 winners will be chosen for second prize and each winner will each receive a $200 Visa gift card and a $100 donation to his or her school.

Application Deadline:

October 25, 2015 is the scholarship application deadline.
