Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship

The Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship, a merit-based program is open to the legal residence of U.S. The Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship is a merit-based program that helps students to fulfill their dreams of a higher education. $1,000 award amount will be given to the deserving candidate. The scholarship can be used for tuition, room and board, required fees or any educational expense.

The scholarship is named for Gen and Kelly Tanabe, best-selling authors on education, whose generous donations fund this program. The first scholarship was awarded in 2001 and since then the scholarship program has been awarding money to help students pay for school.

Eligibility:

To be considered eligible for the scholarship the candidates must follow the given criteria:

  • 9th-12th Grade High School, College or Graduate student including adult students
  • Legal resident of the U.S.
  • Currently in school or planning to start school within the next 12 months

Supporting Documents:

In 250 words or less, the candidates must upload an essay on one of the following topic

  • Why do you deserve to win this scholarship?
  • Describe your academic or career goals.
  • Any topic of your choice

Award Amount:

The first place award of $1,000 will be given to the winning candidate. The award can be used for tuition, room and board, required fees or any educational expense.

Application Deadline:

Gen and Kelly Tanabe spring competition deadline is July 31, 2015.
