AVMF 2nd Opportunity Summer Research Scholarship

The American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) is accepting an application for the 2nd Opportunity Summer Research Scholarship. The program is open for those students who are already engaged in summer research project.  They support veterinarians by providing resources to advance the science and practice of veterinarian medicine to improve animal and human health. The foundation will provide up to $6,000 to winning candidate.

The American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) is the charitable arm of the AVMA. For over 50 years, the AVMF has been dedicated to embracing and advancing the well-being and medical care of animals.

Eligibility:

The school’s students who have previously conducted a summer research project and are seeking to gain a second summer of research experience.

Financial Aid and Award Money:

Five $6,000 awards will be provided in 2017. ($5,000 research scholarship plus $1,000 to supplement travel expenses to the Merial-NIH symposium)

Application Deadline:

  • Deadline for students to submit an application to their school is January 13, 2017.
  • Nominations are limited to 1 (one) per school, and a maximum of 5 (five) total scholarships will be awarded for 2017.
